BorgWarner Dixon LLC is Hiring a 3rd Shift Electronics Technician Near Illinois, IL

EEOC Employer JOB PURPOSE: To provide technical support and resources to manufacturing equipment and processes. Ensure that manufacturing and engineering equipment are maintained at the highest level of safety, efficiency, productivity, and capability. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Perform maintenance, cleaning and repair on equipment and tooling. Install, maintain, and repair all production equipment. Perform diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures. Perform testing and problem solving on assembly equipment to support production operations. Perform equipment and tooling set-up and changeover. Performs basic analysis of process data when needed. Involvement in selecting and ordering spare parts for equipment. Maintenance of spare parts inventory. Support continuous improvement project and cost reduction initiatives. Assist Manufacturing and Quality Engineers with troubleshooting assembly and engineering problems/issues. Work safely. Perform product test, teardown analysis, and special product builds. Design, fabricate, install, maintain, and repair all mechanical/electronic test equipment. Participate actively in a teamwork approach to achieving production goals (examples – First Time Through (FTT), Thru-Put, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)). Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); following safety rules and procedures and training others; compliance with plant code of conduct. Attendance at safety and health training sessions. Workplace organization. Perform capability, PPK, DOE, and special studies/evaluations as required. Perform measurement evaluations of component/product dimensional and physical requirements. Perform other duties as directed. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent. Good safety and attendance record. No performance issues. D. KEY JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: General PC literacy Safety standards Proficient with gages, testers, meters, production, and engineering test equipment Thorough understanding in the operation and use of maintenance equipment. i.e., drill presses, saws, grinders, sanders, presses, benders, breaks etc. Must be initiative-taking and a team player. Troubleshooting electrical systems and control circuits High School algebra, geometry, and physics Ergonomics Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficient in the use of hand tools Strong understanding and proficient skill set in lockout/tag-out requirements, processes, and procedures. Ability to make minor plumbing repairs. Thorough understanding of electrical prints, schematics, and codes Skilled reading and writing skills. Basic SPC Organization skills Effective communication skills Thorough understanding in the operation and use of portable powered hand tools and equipment. i.e., drills, drivers, saws sanders etc. PLC installation, troubleshooting and programing. Electrical wiring - 480V and less Electronics Technician Thorough understanding of electrical prints and schematics, wiring, and mechanical diagrams Stepper and servo motor technology Instrumentation and measurement systems Effective communication skills Poka-yoke techniques Basic understanding of robotics Instrumentation and measurement systems Troubleshoot electrical controls. Knowledgeable of mechanical and electronic test equipment Basic understanding of digital and analog circuitry PC and peripheral hardware PLC’ s (installation, troubleshooting, programming, and interfacing) Logical problem solving Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic systems Thorough understanding of digital and analog circuitry Solid state sensing devices, including visions systems, etc Knowledgeable of mechanical and automated assembly equipment Thorough understanding of assembly processes Thorough understanding of pneumatics and mechanical systems Knowledgeable of electronic circuitry Relay and ladder logic Molding Demonstrated understanding and experience with injection molding process development and process monitoring. Maintain accurate and organized records on molds, machines, set-up instructions and procedures, sorting instructions and procedures, tools, etc. Proficient in hydraulic and pneumatic repair Ensure that all new and repaired molds can produce quality parts per specification following documented procedures. 480V and less wiring Continuing education, working on or possess Master Mold Certification Perform set-ups, mold repair, machine and auxiliary equipment repair following documented procedures. PLC’ s (installation, troubleshooting, programming, and interfacing) Logical problem solving Proficient in running capability studies on new tools and prototypes. Forklift License/Experience Maintain an inventory of replacement parts for molds and machines. Coordinate special study runs, PPAP submissions, etc. Proficient with Edart software Plumbing Coordinate major repair activities with maintenance, tool room, mold makers, and equipment manufacturers. Knowledgeable of mechanical and electronic test equipment Metal Forming / Brazing Process Perform maintenance, cleaning and repair on equipment and tools / fixtures. Perform metallurgical mount cutting/molding/polishing and microscope testing and studies/evaluations as required. Perform testing problem solving on forming/ brazing process issues. Perform equipment and tooling set-up and changeover. Performs basic preventative and predictive maintenance when needed. Order and maintain a spare parts inventory for equipment. Support continuous improvement project and cost reduction initiatives. Assist Manufacturing Technician with troubleshooting assembly and engineering problems/issues. Assist Manufacturing Technician with installing, maintaining, and repairing all related equipment. Participate actively in a teamwork approach to achieving goals, such as product quality and prototype order on-time delivery. Working knowledge of tube forming and assembly processes. Troubleshooting and correction of tube forming problems. Working knowledge of reductive atmosphere brazing of stainless steel. Troubleshooting and correction of the reductive atmosphere brazing process. Perform brazing furnace temperature profiles. Proficiency with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical motors.
