Our consultants are experts in the areas of Accounting, Contracts, Human Resources, Recruiting & Sourcing, and Strategic Pricing and our passion is to guide and propel our partners towards success within this competitive sector.

BOOST is helping one of their teaming parties hire a well-qualified Director of Business Development to join their team. Our client is a recognized leader in high-quality end to end language services that offers custom solutions to service even the most complex language needs.

You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities within the Federal market, leading key strategic pursuits, and implementing an aggressive growth strategy. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site availability at the office and various client locations around the Arlington, VA area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key strategic pursuits to win new business
  • Drive growth by utilizing experience across the entire business development lifecycle including opportunity identification and qualification, call plan development and execution, strategic capture management, and proposal development 
  • Manage a multi-year pipeline and multiple opportunities
  • Achieve pipeline, sales, and business capture results in assigned targets
  • Leverage technical talent to create transformative solutions for our clients
  • Identify, develop, track, and successfully execute a pipeline of qualified opportunities to support our Federal growth objectives
  • Collaborate with the firm’s capture/proposal planning team and stay involved throughout the business development lifecycle
  • Build, develop and foster relationships with key agency decision makers, influencers, industry partners and position the company to pursue and win new opportunities
  • Engage directly with potential customers to identify key POCs and develop customer intimacy regarding pain points, hot buttons, and future mission plans
  • Support teaming strategy, structure, and select teammates based on an analytical assessment of company capabilities against customer hot buttons, solicitation task areas, and the competitive landscape
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders and teammates and work closely with the Capture & Proposal teams to develop bid strategies that are both compelling to the customer and compliant with RFP requirements
  • Work collaboratively and proactively across the organization to drive and achieve broader company growth objectives
  • Engage in industry events and serve as liaison for memberships and event participation
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay current on Federal agencies’ mission priorities, opportunities, and buying trends
  • Provide strategic guidance and actively engage in supporting proposal efforts
  • Be actively involved with Price to Win discussions and work with the Pricing Lead to develop a winning cost proposal.

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years of experience leading professional services business development pursuits within the Federal market space, with a focus on civilian agencies
  • Deep understanding of Civilian Agencies and their components including strategic imperatives, standards and mission priorities
  • Contacts and familiarity with leadership within Civilian Agencies
  • Contacts with industry partners that have incumbent work and focus in Civilian Agencies
  • Successful track record of professional services business development and sales into Civilian Agencies
  • Experience in working in a matrixed organization to drive business
  • Experience working with CRMs and Sales reporting
  • Strong understanding of sales forecasting and deal qualification methods
  • Strong understanding of Federal procurement process, and FAR rules and regulations

  • Drive, determination and demonstrated ability of leading business development efforts at a high level of output, quality, and successAbility to translate offerings into solutions to meet the mission needs of the client
  • Ability to wear multiple hats and manage a diverse portfolio of new business pursuits.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple client stakeholders, as well as internally within the company to design, present, propose, and close engagements
  • Be a true team player, ready to assist others in the growth organization as needed to ensure departmental success
  • Great leadership, management, and customer service skills
  • Excellent communicator - both written and oral

Work Authorization Requirements 

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or clearable for Secret Clearance 
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule out of Arlington, VA that includes travel to various client locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business related degree, or other equivalent industry work experience
