JOB POSTING FOR MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Pursuant to 20 C.F.R. Section 656.10(d), you are hereby notified that this notice is being posted as a result of the filing of Application for Permanent Employment Certification for the above position.

Responsible for performing the full range of diagnostic testing on patient specimens and ensuring testing is conducted accurately, efficiently, and timely to facilitate positive patient care. Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing according to CLIA regulations. Perform quality control protocol and basic evaluation of quality control data, including documentation and recognizing and resolving out of control scenarios. Perform testing and follow established protocols for reporting, including proper handling of critical and STAT values and reviewing logs. Assist in specimen collection, processing, and reference lab preparation and decide when test needs repeated, reported, or redrawn. Responsible for performance of equipment and ensuring adequate supplies. Perform appropriate instrument maintenance, making adjustments, repairs and calibrations. Record results of all tests, quality control, and proficiency surveys and maintain records of proficiency testing, fill out lab log sheets, and verify lab orders. Interact directly with medical staff members in interpretation and follow up on patient results. Participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Technology or closely related field with certification as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist by an appropriate national registry (ASCP, NCA, AMT). 40 hours per week. Wage of $29.65/hour.
