Job Description

Position Summary:

To oversee the Banquet Operations of Bolingbrook Golf Club. Train, coach and lead by example to all FOH staff. Responsible for providing support to all banquet service staff and leaders during set up, breakdown, and service of events. Manages all aspects of event execution and day to day strategic planning while maintaining property standards and day to day controls

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare work station according to property specific guidelines
  • Delivering exceptional standards of quality, service and product to our member
  • Develop training materials educate staff and instruct proper standards
  • Ensuring that checklists, requisitions and proper opening and closing functions are being executed and all staff are coached and held accountable
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the staff.
  • Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and ensure appropriate communication to staff of daily events and expectations
  • Ensure staffing levels for all outlets are accurate based on property and outlet business levels.
  • Monitor all banquet scheduling to ensure property financial goals
  • Develop, implement, measure and train all Banquet FOH standards of operation in concert with the Assistant Banquet Manager
  • Communicate with guests and employees using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information.
  • Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations / heavy operational activity / difficult guest situations serving as a role model for the staff and other facility employees.
  • Move throughout the facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met
  • Ensure compliance with all KemperSports and local cash handling procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all outlets on a daily basis
  • Solicit feedback from guests concerning the service and food & beverage offerings during catered events.
  • Maitre d’ catered events and provide stability and assistance during all catered functions
  • Develop staffing and staging strategies to ensure efficient labor cost while maintaining a high level of execution
  • Develop strategic planning and setting up special events for all Bolingbrook Golf Club areas
  • Assist in the beverage inventory process.

Education/Qualifications/Certifications

  • Resume and proven work experience in a food and beverage environment
  • Completion of Tips Training Program
  • 5 years Prior leadership experience
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of Food and Beverage P&L
  • Ability to maintain labor cost, F&B COGS
  • Execution of financial reporting

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

  • Ensure maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs and training staff on proper use. Using proper standard operating procedures to report and fix these issues.
  • Conduct competitive research and report trends and recommendations.
  • Support the entire Food & Beverage operation including supervising other areas if necessary, handling special projects, running promotions, handling public relations and marketing.
  • Attend mandatory meetings including staff meetings
  • Utilize traditional software programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and/or Outlook
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and General Manager
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire Team Members to meet and exceed standards.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of facilities. Employees who violate KemperSports rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment
  • Must stand for long periods of time
  • Must lift up to 50 lbs
