Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced or Senior Airline Test Support Engineer to join our Component Maintenance and Technical Support team based in Seattle, WA.

As an Airline Test Support Engineer, you will be applying engineering technical standards, principles, and techniques to ensure compliance of supplier component test data deliverables with Boeing and customer contractual requirements. With significant coordination with suppliers, you will be verifying detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, to perform component level testing and minimize risks within the constraints of the test specifications.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Level Airline Test Support Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Validates supplier test design data are sufficient for customers to design test hardware, software, and systems that achieve component-level return-to-service (RTS) test requirements

  • Utilizes test hardware and software design skills to ensure adequate data is included in the Technical Support Data Packages (TSDP) and Abbreviated Test Language for All System (ATLAS) test requirements to meet test objectives.

  • Verifies detailed test procedures and instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform RTS test can be developed with the data contained in the supplier ATLAS test requirements or TSDP.

  • Compiles information from sources such as engineering drawings, test article definitions, and system control drawings to validate complex test requirements and test articles in accordance with applicable contracts, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Evaluates supplier test plans and assists suppliers in developing test methodologies that meet applicable contract requirements, industry standards, and regulations.

  • Analyzes supplier detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test within the constraints of the test requirements.

  • Prepares and publish TSDP and ATLAS review reports to document evaluation of supplier test data requirements that satisfy contractual, industry, and regulatory requirements. Presents validation results internally and externally (to supplier)

  • Tracks, documents, and reports supplier performance to contractual, industry, and regulatory requirements and make recommendations to improve supplier processes and performance.

  • Interfaces with supplier engineering, management, and technical publications organizations to communicate test data deliverable, schedule, and performance requirements.

  • Witnesses shop verification at suppliers’ facility to ensure the CMM/CMP return to service test is performable by customers’ technician.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options (Seattle, WA).

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 3 years of experience in aviation related and aircraft maintenance disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • 3 years of experience as an engineer in a customer support role to an airline customer or supplier.

  • 3 years of experience in systems engineering and/or test and evaluation engineering.

Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master 3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD 4 years' related work experience, Master 7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range (Experienced): $96,900 - $131,100

Summary pay range (Senior): $116,450 - $157,550
