Job Summary:The Service Manager is responsible for the management and/or supervision of in-shop service and repair of machines and equipment. They are responsible for the following functions:
In-plant reconditioning and remanufacturing of components
Mechanical training programs & Safety programs
Environmental compliance regulations
Material safety and data sheets
Low bed truck operations
Enforcing all policies and procedures in the company manuals.
Responsibilities
1.Forecasting and Planning
Develop and schedule sales and expense budgets
Revised budgets will be submitted should business conditions warrant.
Capital expenditures will be forecast in order to maintain the various departments and assist in their improvement.
Departmental objectives will be created and submitted on schedule.
All objectives will be achievable and quantitatively measurable.
The objectives will be directed to:

2. Organizing
Responsible for determining repair methodologies and job flows to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency and the customer satisfaction of the service functions.
Develop and monitor performance standards and measurements.
Develop and maintain all service efficiency and management reports and reporting methods.
3. Directing
Provide direction and leadership required to achieve professional technical services at profitability and quality standards.
Conduct regular service meetings and training sessions to communicate company objectives and policies, to develop technical skills and to encourage employee participation and personal growth.
Observe service personnel in repair circumstances and for providing the coaching necessary diagnostic, safety, clean, efficiency and high-quality work.
Responsible for supervising all direct reports and for providing them with the guidance required for them to reach both their corporate and personal goals.
4. Controlling
Continually monitor the progress of the department, and that of individuals in the service group, toward the quality and profit goals.
Identify deviations form the plan and recommending and/or taking corrective action.
Conduct regular (not less than monthly) meetings with the service group personnel to compare performance with standards and goals.
Takes necessary action(s) to assist individuals in achieving their goals.

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
This position requires but is not limited to lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, listening and speaking with internal and external clients.
