Description

SUMMARY:

Leads and performs assignments associated with raw product receiving, storage, inventory and processing activities. Unloads raw material trucks. Coordinates raw product inventory control and reporting plus sanitation and maintenance of all outside receiving equipment. Ensures plant grounds and work areas are neat and orderly. Completes raw product sampling and grading. Moves raw product as necessary for production purposes. Loads outbound finished products as well as unloading of packing supplies and equipment as needed. Supports all programs and policies that ensure that product is of the highest quality, meets specifications and is safe, legal and wholesome.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Unloads inbound trucks in accordance to BFI safety and proper unloading requirements. Unloads trucks promptly.

Records information on each load received and entered in fusion on the receiving checklist and turns in the bill of lading and scale ticket daily.

Operates the piler, conveyors, sizing equipment, topper and even flows.

Does visual inspection of the product for foreign material or other concerns with the onions and reports anything unusual to the supervisor at once and records information on the receiving report.

Follows the sample procedures for raw product.

Ensures samples of raw product from each truck is taken properly and taken to grading area and graded.

Makes sure raw product reports are accurate and neat.

Reports all foreign material to QA department found with the onions received.

Ensures all product held on the lot is tagged properly for identification.

Completes daily raw and finished inventories and distributes.

Stacks the bins with product in them in order by lot and identifies each lot appropriately.

Assists outside forklift driver to ensures that the daily consumption report for the peeling line of onions consumed each shift is accurate.

Repairs broken bins.

Cleans up the debris from the equipment and the ground after each load received.

Keep cords wrapped up and cord covers for the forklift traffic in place.

Clean the conveyors, sizers, pilers, trucks, forklifts and even flows to ensure proper function. Always using lock out procedures for safety.

Identifies operational and safety concerns on equipment that he/she operates and write up action plans.

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment utilized as trained and/or coordinates with mechanic.

Completes daily crew sheets, inspections and observations.

Communicates with employees and provides information on changes and improvements.

Performs training and guidance to ensure that employees are performing assigned work properly.

Trains new outside forklift drivers and other receiving personnel.

Attends all required training classes. Ensures all safety concerns are dealt with promptly.

Adheres and enforces all safety and conduct rules and company policies as outlined in employee handbook and other company policies and procedures.

Asks supervisor for clear instructions when necessary.

Informs supervisor of any area of concern.

Reports any employee safety or food safety action or condition promptly to supervisor.

Writes up suggestions for continuous improvement ideas.

Assists in the investigation of issues to determine root cause and prevention ideas.

Other related duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Do not filled any plastic bins that does not have a RED X Mark on them for animal feed

Receiving Lead needs to understand fusion requirement to entered into Receiving Board if you have any question please contact supervisor, manager or inventory logistics manager

Fusion Inventory reports completed daily and post on redzone

Understand the flow of the product in fusion by changing locations and splitting tags correct

When receiving inventory make sure to have the correct contract number in fusion

Missing tags in product is to be reported to supervisor, manager and inventory logistics manager as soon as possible

Receiving lead needs to make sure help is sent to waste pit if needed and replace with bin pusher from production line review with supervisor or manager

It is not necessary for this position to do every assignment included in this job description although it is preferred. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED; or three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read two and three-syllable words and to recognized similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English. Ability to complete various paperwork requirements including English printing and math skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract, divide and multiply six digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight and measurement.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
