About the Role:

In this role, you will join a rapidly growing innovation consulting firm, BMNT, Inc., headquartered in Palo Alto, CA . At BMNT, Senior Analysts play an integral role in supporting the entire project lifecycle for our clients, including facilitated workshops and program and product development. 

This specific role resides on the BMNT Hacking for Homeland Security and Diplomacy Team. We are building a high-trust, high-performing team and are seeking a Senior Analyst to help deliver support for the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State. A significant portion of the Senior Analyst role is managing the problem scoping process and creating a process or infrastructure to improve continually while maintaining quality. The Senior Analyst will work closely with the Program Manager to set goals to scale the program and assure quality execution. Candidates must be data-driven, detail-oriented,story-focused, and able to manage stakeholders.

Location: Within commuting distance to Arlington, VA 

What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities):

• Support the BMNT Program Managers in executing Hacking for programs, mainly focused on Hacking for Homeland Security and Hacking for Diplomacy.
• Learn and employ BMNT innovation methodologies and tools.
• Lead problem sourcing events and transform ambiguous topics/challenges into specific and actionable problem statements.
• Collaborate with customers to prioritize problem statements.
• Develop and execute plans to conduct beneficiary discovery/interviews. 
• Translate interviews into key insights that benefit customers and change their understanding of topics/problems.

• Schedule and lead engagements with clients (i.e. prioritization discussions, exploration sessions).
• Build networks within the agencies to source problems and connect with innovation initiatives.
• Coordinate problem sourcing logistics.
• Track follow-on tasks and provide follow-on support for customers.
• Effectively manage stakeholders & build rapport while redirecting, as required, to maintain progress toward achieving the desired outcome.
• Take ownership of individual tasks & execute support to include documenting engagements and drafting meeting notes.

• Bachelor's degree. 
• 3 years of professional experience.
• Excitement for BMNT’s mission.
• The ability to provide valuable, succinct, and actionable insights to others in written or verbal form from large amounts of information.
• Data-driven and has experience using CRMs(We use Hubspot)
• A self-starter with an obsession for outcomes, not activities and a history of achievements.
• Humility and a commitment to self-improvement and self-awareness, including proactively seeking and welcoming constructive feedback from colleagues.
• Curiosity and an always-be-learning attitude, including recognizing when help is needed and seeking new ideas or perspectives to accomplish an objective.

• U.S. Citizenship.

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

• Experience with innovation frameworks, including but not limited to human centered design, design thinking, agile, lean startup, etc. 
• Experience with the Department of Homeland Security or Department of State.
• Defense acquisition experience.
