Revenue Director
Location: Remote Northeast / Mid-Atlantic Preferred
The Position
BlueVoyant is seeking a Revenue Director to build and lead the global revenue accounting function including managing the coordination of our technical accounting and revenue accounting operations to ensure compliance with ASC 606. This individual will also manage the billing process, credit and collections, partner accounting, and proper recognition of cost of revenues associated with sales contracts. The individual will engage with the business to provide revenue recognition compliant solutions including oversight of large contract review and non-standard sales deals.
What will you do
• Manage month-end and quarter-end revenue close and billing processes including reviewing journal entries, balance sheet accounts reconciliations, fluctuation and trend analyses and timely preparation of financial reporting deliverables
• Oversee technical accounting research related to complex contractual arrangements and partnering with the business to support new revenue models under ASC 606
• Ownership of the billing operations to ensure accurate and complete bookings and billing information for accounting and reporting
• Integrate systems, processes and functions for new and existing acquisitions
• Manage A/R payment application and collection efforts; ownership of credit limit policies related to partner/customer onboarding and credit monitoring.
• Manage design and operations of internal controls, policies and procedures related to revenue recognition and monthly close and reporting processes
• Work closely with the Company’s external auditors on revenue recognition and related controls and manage audit requirements
• Partner with FP&A to evaluate trends around revenue and revenue-related financial metrics
• Assist IT in the testing and deployment of applications that impact revenue recognition
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or relevant field
• CPA strongly preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a corporate finance environment (public company experience preferred) including a minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue accounting
• Experience building functions and teams to scale
• Experience transitioning companies from private to public entities
• Experience with SaaS, MSS and/or Professional Services companies
• Strong software and SaaS revenue recognition knowledge in the areas of ASC 606, and related revenue recognition pronouncements under US GAAP
• Experience with NetSuite, Oracle or SAP (or compatible) and SalesForce
