Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $142,932 - $230,755. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is not a remote position.

Additional Compensation: This position is eligible for an end-of-year bonus.

Position Description:

We are looking for a Space Training Instructor to join our rapidly growing engineering team. As a Space Training Instructor at Bluestaq, you are a known expert with hands-on technical and space domain expertise. The ideal candidate is a motivated educational professional with a strong understanding of core space domain awareness engineering concepts. In the Space Training Instructor position at Bluestaq, you will collaborate closely with key stakeholders and system users to build and maintain curriculum and hands-on training to meet exercise and mission requirements.

Basic Qualifications and Skills:

• 8 years of experience with a Master's degree OR 12 years of training experience with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years of experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Well-recognized space domain expert with operational domain knowledge.
• Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities within a team-centric environment.
• Experience teaching and training others on tools and processes, including Initial Qualification Training in Space Domain Awareness.
• Familiarity with orbital mechanics and space domain awareness.
• Acute knowledge and sensitivity of cultural differences; Experience in international relations and engagement.
• Scopes work on complex projects involving multiple engineers and ensure the team's delivery.
• Provides stakeholder management, engagement, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Document work products in briefings and/or technical reports to customers and teammates.
• Hands-on experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira.
• Ability to communicate the scope and state of work, identify issues, and anticipate possible roadblocks.
• Proactive and thoughtful in seeking clarification and asking questions.
• Finds the right balance between persevering on a problem and asking for help.
• Takes responsibility for their personal development and has a growth mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Independently prioritizes and escalates unforeseen issues.
• Ability to apply engineering skills and knowledge to creatively approach new problems.
• Stays up to date with industry best practices and trends to apply to future software architectures.

• As a senior engineer on the team, Principal Systems Engineers facilitate mentorship and healthy collaboration across the program.
• Military experience is a bonus!

Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. To be eligible for clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.
