The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Staff Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The individual will join a skilled team and will be responsible for supporting all general accounting at BlueOwl, LLC and the HiRoad Assurance Company. The ideal candidate is able to build relationships, apply past learnings and expertise to new projects, has excellent collaboration and communication skills, and is able to learn new technologies quickly.

Your day-to-day:

• Accounting: 
• Prepare and post accounting related entries for both HiRoad and BlueOwl. 
• Regularly maintain detailed bank and other balance sheet account reconciliations. 
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly and annual Statement Preparation as needed and under the guidance of the Sr. Staff Accountant and Finance and Accounting Manager. 
• Work cross-enterprise with diverse functional teams to ensure a smooth finance operating model. 
• Perform ad-hoc reporting as requested. 
• Credit Card Administration: 
• Analyzes and reports and audits credit card transaction data. Serve as the point of contact for the cardholders to assist with account problems, reconcile credit cards monthly.
• GRAM administrator for credit cards 
• Provide credit card information via LastPass and Jira tickets for travel and professional development
• Fixed Asset Administration: 
• Compile monthly fixed asset reconciliation 
• Serve as a POC for fixed assets for the company should questions arise
• Serves as back up for processing accounts payable and claims invoices. 
• Work cross-enterprise with diverse functional teams to ensure a smooth finance operating model. 

About you:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior insurance experience stronglypreferred
• A minimum of 2-4 year’s experience working in a finance role
• Prior use of accounting software, G-suite products, and Excel 
• Team player with ability to work and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams 
• Ability to navigate, escalate, and lead accounting efforts as necessary

Salary: $90,000 to $105,000*

• Important note: all offered salaries are based on many factors, including experience in a similar role and geographic location of the candidate.

Occasional travel may be required for team meetings or company gatherings. Employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Providence, Rhode Island may commute to one of our local offices as desired.
• Hours: We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 3PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones.
