Overview

BlueHalo is seeking entry level engineering candidates to support a variety of aerospace and defense programs. As part of this process, we are also seeking qualified intern candidates in their second or third year of an accredited 4-year engineering program in order to identify potential candidates earlier in their career.

Responsibilities

A qualified candidate would have a background in mechanical engineering and interest in supporting a variety of aerospace and defense work. Projects vary within technology areas at BlueHalo, and mechanical engineering work can consist of designing electro-mechanical mechanisms such as steering mirrors or gimbals, electronics packaging and thermal management, sensor design and opto-mechanical system design. These programs are for a variety of applications including ground-based demonstration programs, operational fielded assets as well as space qualified imaging, and laser communications.

• Supporting mechanical design activities of various projects including modeling electro-mechanical systems, electrical enclosures, opto-mechanical systems, etc.
• Supporting system assembly, integration, and test of the above hardware
• Assist other engineers in creating and updating SolidWorks models and drawings.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• Two years completed of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year university
• Desire to pursue a career in Mechanical engineering for Aerospace systems
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance

Preferred Education and Experience

• Experience with SolidWorks CAD software.
• Experience with FEA software
• Hands-on experience (machine shop, assembly, automotive, etc.). Ability to understand technical drawings and assembly instructions.
• Completion of inter-disciplinary course work including controls/mechatronics, basic electrical circuits, etc.
