JOB SUMMARY: Provides professional nursing care. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the residents served, and ability to provide care according to departmental policies and procedures. Provides care over an extended time, in various settings, spanning the illness to wellness continuum. Responsible for the supervision and documentation of direct resident care and the assurance of proper and timely administration and documentation of medications and treatments. Also, responsible for personnel management of a designated shift. Performs other related duties as deemed competent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Experience: At least one year Long-term care or related experience required, supervisory experience preferred
License/Registration: Current NC license - Registered Nurse. Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
Other: Thorough knowledge of nursing standards, principles and procedures; ability to work well with others
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires frequently: pushing 40 lbs; pulling 80 lbs; standing; walking; repetitive trunk rotation-standing; manual dexterity; both handedness (both hands must be used) functional vision and hearing ; Occasionally: lifting 35 lbs from floor to waist and waist to eye level; one handed carrying 15lbs; work kneeling; work squatting/crouching; visual color discrimination; and visual depth perception. In the environment occasionally exposed to wetness; slippery surfaces; ionizing radiation and accident exposure.
