What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Technical Project Manager position at Blue Origin?

As project manager, you will support program execution for the development and production of New Glenn's second stage. You will collaborate closely with weld engineers, materials and process engineers, and manufacturing engineers to define material requirements and successfully implement production solutions. This is a high visibility team that must communicate effectively with many levels of the organization and with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities:
- Organize schedules, process plans and specifications to ensure development, qualification and production hardware is delivered and support the various campaigns.
- Support subsystem business rhythms and develop/communicate key program metrics with visibility in both Florida and Washington.
- Manage project schedules, WBS, and cost, as well coordinate schedules to integrate the subsystem development.
- Report status, risks & opportunities, variances, and recovery plans to engineering and program management.
- Collaborate closely with internal customers such as Material & Process engineers, weld engineers, manufacturing, tooling engineers, production control and management.
- Occasional travel to Kent, WA required.
Qualifications:
- Passion for Blue Origin's mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
- B.S. Business, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Management, or similar
- Demonstrated ability building trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results
- Basic knowledge of material testing
- Basic knowledge of friction stir welding processes
- Familiar with applicable industry standards
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Project)
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- Knowledge of Friction Stir Welding of aluminum alloys
- Experience with program management and business management in a development environment
- Experience with Primavera (P6), CREO, Windchill, Confluence/Wiki, Jira
- Experience with configuration management, requirements management processes, requirements change processes, risk management processes
- Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle
- Experience with human spaceflight or high-performance aircraft systems
- Experience in development of launch vehicles
- Experience in technical procedure development and execution for complex aerospace systems
