The Application Developer facilitates business intelligence operations. Performs work involving the design, development, programming, and implementation of application systems. Additionally, guides credit union action and strategies via accurate and timely reports, either ad-hoc or automated.

Preference will be given to applicants who have applicable experience in the credit union or banking industry. 

The ‘must haves’ for this position include:

• An Associate degree in Information Technology or related field from an accredited college/university, or equivalent work experience
• Experience working in an IT Developer role, minimum of 2 years
• Experience with any programming language, minimum of 1 year
• Experience with a graphical reporting solution (Tableu, Excel Pivot Charts, JasperSoft, etc.)
• Experience with JAVA
• Experience in string manipulation, RegEx, File I/O in programming language of choice
• Experience with various data formats (XML, delimited, JSON, fixed-width, etc.)
• Ability to use a scripting language (Powershell, bash, etc.) for automation and file management
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

It would be awesome if you also have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field from an accredited college/university
• Excellent knowledge of ANSI SQL, additional familiarity with a proprietary SQL extension (Microsoft Transact-SQL, Oracle's PL/SQL, etc.
• Experience with a language, framework or package geared for data analysis (Python's NumPy, R language, etc.)
• Statistics and/or Finance background
• Practical experience with Machine Learning
• Familiarity with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) concepts and applications of such
• JAVA Certification
• Microsoft Excel VBA experience

To name a few expectations, this person:

• Actively participate in new development initiatives, enhancements, existing applications, and issues resolution/production support.
• Be involved in all phase of software development life cycle: requirements, detailed analysis, design, development, unit and integration testing, and implementation of both development and support initiatives in vendor purchased applications.
• Gather and analyze information for developing and modifying information systems.
• Meet with users to determine the specifications for the installation of application information systems, as well as any enhancements, modifications, or interfaces to existing systems.
• Participate and/or lead the implementation and support of application systems.
• Develop test plans and quality assurance strategies.
• Design application systems and interfaces; test program logic and codes, and maintain programs.
• Train users in the operation of application systems.
• Prepare detailed programming specifications and oversee the completion of the tasks when performed by less senior employees.
• Collaborate with other department employees, define application systems objectives and requirements.
• Prepare documentation for all components of systems, as well as user documentation.
• Ensure security in all engineering solutions.
• Participate in various migrations and upgrade projects.
• Work closely and professionally with staff to determine and gather requirements for ad-hoc or automated reports.
• Write and maintain SQL to query various databases and to generate reports.
