Job Summary: Move product to various locations, ensuring loads and transportation of products satisfy all customer requirements. Ensuring that loads are properly secured and transported safely. Job Description: Operates a highway rated truck tractor pulling flat beds or bulk trailers to various locations. Incumbent must possess a Class A driver’s license, have a safe driving record, and undergo a physical examination every two years. Must follow California driving rules and regulations. Responsible for interpretation of loading instructions and direction of crew. Must understand Blue Diamond line certification, HACCP processes and auditing, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practices and rules are followed. May change forklift batteries using hoist. Must be forklift certified. Must be able to communicate effectively with others and complete other duties as assigned by supervisor. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum level of education required. High School Diploma or GED Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience. 1 year of experience driving a truck tractor pulling flat beds or bulk trailers. Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g., Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.) Forklift certification Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, loading documents, California Motor Vehicle regulations, and DOT rules. Must have knowledge of Blue Diamond inventory process. Possesses solid communication skills needed to effectively relate to all levels within the organization. Must have proven ability to independently recognize problems, develop relevant facts, and determine appropriate solutions. Required to perform safety inspections of forklift on a routine basis. Must be able to periodically pass medical exams. Works under limited supervision. High degree of impact on both internal and external customers. Errors may cause significant problems for Blue Diamond in terms of lost products, customer satisfaction, and adherence of California driving code. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor. Follows set procedures, and schedules for job duties. Will be frequently exposed to moving forklift, transport, and pull-pack traffic. Must be constantly alert to pedestrians and vehicle traffic.
