$2,500 Sign-On Bonus* We have an exciting new opportunity for a Software Engineer within our IT Department at Bloodworks NW. The incumbent will be responsible for developing information systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to: Performs coding, testing, and troubleshooting of programs utilizing hardware, database, and programming technology. Maintains and modifies programs; makes approved changes by amending flow charts, develop detailed programming logic, and coding changes. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. Tests and develops programming modifications. Writes new program code using prescribed specifications. Analyzes performance of programs and takes action to correct deficiencies in collaboration with users; resolving questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and internal checks and controls. Writes and maintains programming documentation; including providing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing programming problems and resolutions. Analyzes client/server and micro-computer based software solutions compatibility with company requirements. Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed. Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures. Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Learn and apply new technical concepts and methods as needed. Support the development and upgrade of software applications. Adhere to Information Technology (IT) and Bloodworks Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding the development, testing, review, implementation and maintenance of software systems. Employ good organizational skills. Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as written. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: College or technical degree, with course work in computer concepts and programming languages, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One or more years of experience programming/debugging business applications. Possess an ability to analyze and investigate existing code for system enhancements. SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS include, but are not limited to: Knowledge and experience programming in .NET, SQL (C# preferred) or Java programming languages. Other languages may be required depending upon specific projects or application areas assigned. Knowledge and experience designing and developing SSIS / SQL ETL solutions Knowledge and experience with administration or development with Salesforce CRM a plus. Knowledge and experience integrating data between enterprise applications; including working with and developing interfaces on integration engine applications. Knowledge and experience in information analysis / architecture Must have good writing skills, and must be able to communicate effectively with others in face-to-face interactive situations and when working remote. Must be able to work well both independently and as a member of a team. Must have ability to read documents and materials printed in standard size type fonts, with or without device assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: The job is performed in an office environment. This position has indirect exposure to blood borne pathogens. May occasionally be required to work extended hours to support project or operational requirements. Bloodworks is a community supported non-profit organization. As such, (from time-to-time) incumbent can expect to work with volunteers. Telecommuting is a frequent but not permanent condition of this role.
