Position Title: Staff Accountant 

Reports to: Sr Manager - Financial Reporting & Internal Controls

Location: Remote

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for corporate accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, and consolidation. The position will assist in the creation of timely and accurate reporting packages on a quarterly and annual basis. The Staff Accountant will calculate and record commodity billing to all Blommer locations. 

Responsibilities

Corporate Accounting and Consolidation

• Assist in preparing the quarterly reporting package for parent company with consolidated financials, tax estimates, and information from all departments.
• Assist in the creation, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of internal controls system and annual testing to be in compliance with J-SOX.
• Assist in the year end audit with external auditors and oversee internal audit requirements from parent company.
• Prepare various corporate entries and reconciliations. Responsibilities include overhead allocation, insurance allocation, general accruals, bonus and profit sharing, and intercompany sales and purchases. Prepare corporate reporting on various monthly KPIs.
• Maintain general ledger program and oversee control of chart of accounts and reporting.
• Maintain management reporting program to ensure proper financial reports are generated.
• Assist in quarterly tax estimates and year end tax provision calculation.
• Prepare the monthly Fuji monthly management BLM report.
• Support various management reporting and analysis requirements for internal and parent company needs.

Commodity Accounting

• Prepare monthly commodity billing to plants. Calculate value for billing using average cost and future value of shipment average.
• Review variation margin and open trade equity monthly. Report monthly open trade equity changes for tax estimates.
• Calculate mark to market for purchased inventory hedges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Public Accounting experience a plus along with experience in GAAP and SOX
• 3-5 years experience
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite and experience in working with ERP systems
