QUALITY ENGINEER

Quality assurance (QA) aims to ensure that the product or service an organization provides is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, including regulatory compliance and customer expectations. The Quality Engineer is responsible for all aspects of quality management and produces data, reports on performance, and measures against set indicators. Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, the Quality Engineer advises on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.

What you’ll be doing:

• Promotes quality principles and improvement throughout the organization
• Sets QA compliance objectives and ensures that targets are achieved
• Assesses the product specifications of the company and its suppliers, and compares with customer requirements
• Works with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
• Establishes QA standards and effectively communicates the standards to staff
• Defines quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
• Maintains QA procedures and documentation
• Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and delivers training
• Ensures tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated, and product modifications are fully vetted
• Writes technical reports
• Works with cross functional teams to formulate and agree upon comprehensive quality procedures
• Monitors QA performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports

What we’re looking for:

• B.S. degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences
• 0 - 5 years direct experience
• Proficiency in both classical and numerical methods of solving analytical challenges
• Fluent in MS Excel and Word
• Experience in 5S Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement Programs
• ERP system experience a plus
• Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus
