Summary/Objective
Blackwatch is providing support to help a Federal agency enable an Information Technology (IT) transformation journey while it modernizes its IT systems. Blackwatch ensures mission operations continue by maintaining and operating over 270 legacy systems with 99.7% systems uptime. Blackwatch maintains more than 13,000 Linux and windows servers, VMware, HP-UX, AIX, with a mix of out of support, near end of life, and current supported servers, across two data centers and multiple public clouds. We provide services to approximately 250 DevSecOps Agile Teams maintaining product operations, system stability, and troubleshooting capacity. In addition, while the agency seeks to transition to a modern cloud environment, it continues to employ around 1,900 physical servers and 9,600 virtual servers to support its IT program and makes a major data center transformation. Blackwatch provides vital services in the provision and maintenance of 13,000 resources through a focus on the workflows and methodologies to deliver timely resources to customers, faster, and right sized while ensuring products stay secure and stable by providing engineering and operations and maintenance support for Server Operating Systems, as well as, requirements analysis and design, to ensure adherence to standards and policies. Blackwatch is working to expand and mature the delivery model to support multiple operating systems, serverless, containers and micro-services, that can scale on demand, have high availability, secure, and scalable built into the delivery pipeline ensuring security is built in from the beginning to the end.
