Hayes Group Architects an award-winning architectural firm specializing in innovative and sustainable design solutions, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Project Architect, you will play a crucial role in leading and coordinating architectural projects from inception to completion, ensuring the successful delivery of exceptional design solutions for our clients

With offices in Redwood City and downtown San Francisco, this candidate can sit in either.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead architectural projects by overseeing the design process, coordinating with team members, and guiding the project from conceptualization to completion.
  • Design Development: Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop design concepts, prepare architectural drawings, and create detailed construction documentation.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of architectural principles, building codes, regulations, building science, construction materials, and detailing, ensuring compliance and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Management: Create and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Coordinate and communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address project requirements and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and interior designers, to integrate their expertise into the architectural design process.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, actively engaging with them to understand their needs, provide design recommendations, and address any concerns to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Construction Administration: Oversee the construction phase by conducting site visits, reviewing progress, and coordinating with contractors to ensure adherence to design intent and resolve any construction-related issues.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay updated with the latest architectural trends, materials, and technologies, and contribute to the development of innovative design solutions that align with sustainability and environmental considerations.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Credentials: Possess a professional degree in Architecture and be a licensed architect, registered to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 8 years of experience in architectural design and project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects of various scales and complexities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in ArchiCAD, SketchUp, or other relevant design software preferred but not required
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders. Ability to present complex ideas and design concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Leadership and Coordination: Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members. Proven ability to coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in design development, documentation, and construction administration processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically, analyze challenges, and provide innovative solutions while considering project constraints and client requirements.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Knowledge of Sustainability: Familiarity with sustainable design principles and LEED certification is advantageous, with a commitment to integrating environmentally conscious strategies into architectural projects.
