Job Title: Controls Technician

Pay: $62,000 / yearly

Shift: 2nd, & 3rd

Openings: 2

Location: Brighton, MI

The Controls Tech is responsible for supporting and improving upon the control systems that are essential to the production processes. Required support will be implementation of engineering changes for current production products, continuous improvement projects and trouble existing systems.

Responsibilities

  • · Selection of error and mistake proofing devices.
  • · Analyze and calculate machine performance and requirements utilizing the PLC.
  • · Responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation and tracking of assigned projects.
  • · Integrating and networking PC's and PLC's (TCP/IP, Ethernet IP)
  • · Provide support for Controls related issues, as required, to prevent or minimize production downtime.
  • · Implement process improvements to improve overall efficiencies, including automation.
  • · Responsible for problem solving and resolution of issues as directed / or required.
  • · Strong Electrical installation knowledge and skills. Working with power distribution from bus to equipment.
  • · Skilled in dealing with all voltage levels. I.e. 480vac, 12 vdc

·Qualifications

  • · Strong experience in HMI programming (AB PanelView and PanelView Plus)
  • · Strong knowledge of Ethernet IP & TCP/IP systems
  • · Extensive experience in PLC programming (Allen Bradley Micro Logic, SLC 500’s, ControlLogix 5000 processors) for Manual Assembly Cells, Automated Assembly Cells and Power & Free conveyor systems.
  • · Strong understanding of assembly and mechanical requirements for equipment applications.
  • · Strong working knowledge of manual and automated assembly systems and technologies, including both mechanical and control systems.
  • · Computer literacy and proficiency are required (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, AutoCAD, RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, RS View, ex. at an advanced skills level).
  • · Self-motivated and works with minimal direction,
  • · Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
  • · Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
  • · Strong Electrical installation knowledge and skills. Working with power distribution from bus to equipment.
  • · Strong PLC programming – AB, Siemens and other PLCs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $62,000.00 per year
