Overview

The Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales with strategic customers for long-term growth. In addition, the Sales Representative will build relationships with customers, collaborate with internal teams, and be innovative to achieve business results.

Responsibilities

• Call on existing customers to ensure we are maximizing our drop sizes and communicate product specials and quality concerns. • Meet with customers to explain product line. Recommends products to customers, based on customer’s specific needs. • Call on potential new customers to explain product line and services.• Investigate and respond to customer inquiries, questions and complaints in a professional manner while maintaining a productive working relationship with the customer.• Build and maintain relationships within the accounts and proactively source sales leads and opportunities to ensure revenue opportunities are maximized. • Understand the industry, market conditions and competitive marketing information.• Maintain a working knowledge of company products, availability and pricing for communication with current and potential customers.• Work collaboratively with members of the operations and leadership teams to achieve business results and maintain the customer experience. • Contact regular and prospective customers to solicit orders. • Obtain credit information on prospective customers. Assist A/R in collecting overdue accounts. • Participate in new product development as needed.• Attend sales meetings, training sessions, food shows and conferences as deemed necessary by leadership and customer requirements.• Set-up and support rollout of new accounts as assigned.• All other duties as deemed appropriate by leadership.• Promote and demonstrate compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requirements.• All food safety as it relates to this position.• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of sales and distribution experience required (foodservice industry or related preferred). • Experience in restaurant operations desirable.• High School or equivalent degree required• High Level of negotiation and closing skills.• Excellent oral and written communication skills.• Demonstrated problem solving ability.• Ability to prioritize, schedule and monitor sales programs.• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment. • Ability to present ideas and concepts in front of large groups.• Ability to focus, achieve objectives, and have excellent time management skills. • Be willing and able to travel to sales presentations, conferences and trade shows.• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
