BIX Produce Company is Hiring a Controls Technician Near Little Canada, MN

Overview

As a Controls Technician, you will analyze, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical, automation, and motion control equipment on assigned and unassigned job tasks. Successful team members will make all necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality standards. Expectation of this role is to have expertise in a variety of electrical skills. This position reports in to the Maintenance Manager. 

  • 15 Days of PTO
  • Schedule is Wednesday-Saturday, 7am to work completion
  • Tuition Reimbursement 
  • Tool and Boot reimbursement
  • FREE on-site gym

Responsibilities

  • Keeping equipment operating by following operating instructions and troubleshooting breakdowns
  • Making necessary equipment repairs during scheduled and unscheduled times
  • Advanced electrical troubleshooting of equipment failures
  • PLC, HMI, and VFD troubleshooting, installation, modification, and repair
  • Performing preventative maintenance
  • The ability to recommend ideas to increase productivity and extend equipment life
  • Capability to train others
  • Skilled in communicating with all BIX team members in a tactful manner
  • Following all OSHA, HAZMAT, USDA, FDA, and EPA rules and regulations
  • Documenting actions by completing records and maintaining paperwork in CMMS software
  • Maintain a safe working environment to reduce injuries and workers compensation claims.
  • Food Safety as it relates to this position.
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of using Rockwell Automation software, required
  • 5 years related experience and/or training
  • Strong knowledge of AC & DC voltage, including components in control circuits
  • Must have the following regarding control circuit capabilities: troubleshooting, rebuilds, and customizations.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as maintenance/manufacturing manuals, blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Ability to use electrical and electronic test instruments as well as a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform equipment inspections
  • Ability to repair, rebuild, or overhaul equipment
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems
