BitGo is looking for a Risk Manager to advise on various types of risks (security, regulatory, operational, and financial) and compliance matters. You will write risk statements to identify potential threats and evaluate risk levels, working across teams to develop and document contingency plans and track the implementation of solutions that reduce and control risks. You will also support the business with responding to subject matter relevant client due diligence inquiries and with assisting in the completion of internal and external compliance audits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Writing comprehensive and clearly articulated risk statements.
  • Conduct assessments to define and analyze possible risks
  • Evaluate the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences
  • Develop risk management controls and systems
  • Design and document processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks
  • Create contingency plans to manage crises
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures and propose opportunities for improvement
  • Document findings, remediation plans, and maintain a risk register
  • Prepare reports and present recommendations
  • Help implement solutions and plans
  • Work with our Enterprise Risk Management team/leaders to help identify and correlate risks that directly impact business continuity 
  • Respond to client due diligence inquiries
  • Assist with the completion of internal and external compliance audits (e.g. SOC 1 and SOC 2)

Requirements: 

  • 3 years of relevant experience 
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to clearly relate across various cross-functional teams
  • Propensity for functioning in an environment of “first impression,” adapting past examples and general guidelines to new and unique circumstances
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness. 
  • Strong problem-solving, investigative, and analytical skills, with aptitude for discriminating between useful and less useful details.
  • Action and results oriented; ability to drive results, effect change, and have a positive impact on the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and manage through ambiguous situations, with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of risk management and control frameworks (e.g. COSO, ISO 31000)
  • Knowledge of of information security and privacy standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001/27701, NIST, FFIEC, CCPA, EU GDPR)
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Ability to interface with top management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
