Role OverviewThe Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the activites associated with the discover, capture, documentation and successful communication of business requirements and system functionality for software application. Responsible for following the overall SDLC process as well as the requirements process and successfully escalating problem resolution. This role requires a highly motivated self-starter that is able to design and deliver creative, technical and non-technical solutions to complex business problems, with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently. The role requires someone who can work well in a team environment, is quality and results driven and can work with constraints to drive innovation. What You'll Be Doing 

• Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the SDLC standard and templates and artifacts associated with Business Analysis
• Comply with process standards for documentation, tracking and communication of requirements throughout the SDLC
• Participate or assist in the completion of deliverables in any of the following System Development Lifecycle Phases: Analysis, Design, Development or Integration Testing
• Provide assistance with all relevant project, development, design and architecture standards as well as standard operational processes and service metrics;
• Assist in establishing project estimates, ensure assigned projects follow schedules, and inform management of any unplanned slippages;
• Facilitate JAD sessions with business stakeholders to elicit Requirement information for Project and/or Work Order requests.
• Provide detailed Requirement Documentation for Stakeholders and for IT Development and Quality Assurance teams in compliance with the established Standard Templates.
• Ensure requirements for time, budget, and quality objectives are met, as established for maintenance activities and projects.
• Ensure Business Analysis quality and activity standards are met based on established KPIs
• Work with business and IT operations to maintain process standards for the development and documentation of training materials
• Develop an expert level understanding of business processes and supporting technologies for a single and secondary line of business
• Identify and analyze software defects within scope established development guidelines; assist in developing operational instructions, program documentation according to established standards;
• Participate in technical design; provide application support to enterprise applications; proactively suggest improvements to technical designs;
• Provide status updates to supervisor(s)/manager(s) on a regular basis; analyze data and prepare reports as required;
• Ensure all appropriate Service Levels and Quality objectives are met;
• Be responsive to clients, stakeholders, peers and co-workers; deliver what is committed and expected - i.e. deliver on all promised timelines, budgets and scope;
• Work collaboratively among all Delivery team members ensuring knowledge and expertise is shared across individuals and teams for improved work performance

What You Bring to BGRS

• University degree or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience Business Systems Analysis or Process Analysis
• Exemplary listening, communication and documentation skills
• Experience using Requirements management software such as TFS, Azure DevOps (preferred but not required).
• Possess the ability to quickly learn new technical procedures and industry best practices
• Exemplary interpersonal skills. Able to establish working relationships with a variety of personalities and skill sets within IT and the Business
• Able to prioritize, design, and deliver new initiatives efficiently and effectively
• Experience with various SDLC methodologies including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall
• Provides a consultative approach when dealing with internal stakeholders about business problems and opportunities
• Security Clearance Requirements
  • Reliability status security clearance granted by CIISD, PWGSC; the security clearance application will be facilitated via the GRS–Government Services Company Security Officer (CSO).
