• Monitors, maintains and updates inventory reports; reconciles inventory discrepancies
• Processes requisitions, purchase orders and invoices for payment
• Records purchases, maintains database, performs physical count of inventory at multiple locations
• Maintains statistics and develops complex reports
• Assists with special projects using independent decision-making and judgment
• Responds to general and complex questions and complaints regarding department or work
• May supervise, lead or train administrative or clerical support personnel
• May perform general administrative tasks such as copying, answering telephones; open and distribute mail
• Performs related duties as required

• Graduation from High School or a General Education development (GED) certificate, and two (2) years of inventory control experience, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Good knowledge of English spelling, grammar and punctuation; good knowledge of office procedures
• Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations
• Skill to type 30 words per minute with no more than 7 errors; Requires recent typing test by hired date (Typing tests may be administered by Department, Human Resources or Workforce Solutions Alamo Career Centers)
• Proficient in operating a personal computer, typewriter and basic office equipment; skill in accurately entering data and file information
• Ability to reconcile inventory counts, monitor and update complex data reports; ability to analyze and solve problems; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to work independently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, and the general public; ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to determine quantity and location of assets
• Must be bilingual in Spanish
• Must have and maintain a valid Texas Class C driver's license
• Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
• Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
• May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek

• Working conditions are primarily indoors with occasional outdoor exposure such as Heavy Equipment Service Centers, and Fleet Maintenance areas
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
• Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as hazardous fluids (gasoline, oil, fluids, antifreeze, freon, battery acid, and solvents) extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
• Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Will frequently communicate with co-workers; must be able to exchange accurate information
• Frequently moves about buildings
• Constantly positions self to perform essential functions
• Constantly operates tools and equipment
