As a managing editor on the content marketing team, you’ll lead a team of writers, editors, and SEO specialists to create compelling and creative content that drives inbound demand and elevates BetterUp as an influential voice in the world of work and well-being. 

In this role, you will oversee scaling our blog to deliver content that supports human transformation, drives growth for the company, and makes a difference in peoples’ lives every day. You’ll lead the strategy for growing blog traffic, increasing conversions to drive demand, developing processes that lead to repeatable results, and guiding the hiring and career development of the team. 

What you’ll do:

  • Define the editorial strategy and processes that will make our blog the go-to destination site on human growth, mental fitness, and peak performance. 
  • Manage and refine the blog editorial calendar to meet publishing and traffic goals. 
  • Be responsible for the editorial calendar by setting deadlines, assigning articles, scheduling posts, and formatting posts. 
  • Edit content developed by staff writers and freelance writers to align with BetterUp’s core mission, messaging, and brand pillars. 
  • Manage our SEO and optimization specialists to drive traffic and optimize content for conversions. 
  • Align with our thought leadership writers and internal experts to develop content that tells the story of BetterUp.
  • Set goals, analyze performance, and report on results that impact and influence core business metrics. 
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure blog content provides values via social and demand campaigns as well as in sales and product conversations. 
  • Hire, develop, and provide leadership to team members so they can do their best work. 
  • Source and manage freelancers to support content efforts. 
  • Conduct ongoing research internally in collaboration with other leaders and monitor trends to understand the changing needs of companies and what’s next for the future of work and well-being. 
  • Partner with product marketing, sales, revenue marketing, customer marketing, and other teams to source and develop stories. 
  • Build scalable processes that will help our team execute more efficiently and create more impactful content campaigns. 

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • 7 years of experience creating content, including creating and managing an editorial calendar, that drives traffic to a blog or results in demand for a product or service. 
  • 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, especially in translating complex topics into relatable content and graphics.
  • Experience reporting on content results, measuring impact, and analyzing results is a must. 
  • Experience in writing or editing on topics related to career development, leadership, mental health, and well-being a plus.
  • Experience writing or editing for SaaS and B2B2C a plus
  • Knowledge of content channels and optimizing campaigns.
  • Experience in setting goals and analyzing results via Google Analytics, HubSpot, Looker, Domo, or other similar tools.
  • Proactive problem solver with strong sense of ownership and bias toward action who values collaboration, clear communication, and holds their team to high creative standards. 
  • Places value on both the day-to-day work of execution and makes time for brainstorming big ideas that will lead to outsized results. 
  • Track record of hiring, developing, and leading teams of high-performing individual contributors.
