Day (United States of America)Job Summary: Reporting to the CFO, incumbent is responsible for daily oversight, management and direction of all functions within Revenue Cycle Management, which includes Patient Access. Responsible for the management of all patient service revenue functions related to billing (follow up, payment posting and reconciliation). Acts as the Hospital's point person for updates to the CommunityOne Charge Master. Prepares monthly reports related to Accounts Receivable. Prepares and files all reports required by CMS, the State and other third parties as required.Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:
Establish adequate controls to ensure that gross patient service revenue is billed to third party carriers, government programs, and patients timely and accurately.
Set, monitor, and report on key metrics such as cash collections, days outstanding, unbilled, denials, etc. Review, recommend and implement changes where appropriate.
Responsible for setting, tracking and maintenance of Patient Financial Services departmental budgets. Plans with Finance on equipment purchases and lease arrangements.
Manages workflow and modifies processes as needed to address gaps in technology. Collaborates with IS staff at all levels to develop solutions for problems that impede workflow and cash flow.
Management of staff at multiple levels from manager to clerical. Provides direction to management and supervisory staff to ensure that goals are met relative to unit performance. Employee evaluations are completed timely and fairly
Has the authority to direct and support managers with functional area responsibilities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. Direct Reports: More than 7 Indirect Reports: 11-20
Has full responsibility for planning, monitoring and managing budgets for multiple departments.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Adm., Finance or other related field required. Master's degree in Business, Health Adm., Finance or other related field preferred.
5-8 years related work experience required in Revenue Cycle and Hospital Billing Experience and 3-5 years supervisory/management experience required
15 years of previous experience in Revenue Cycle Management may be substituted for degree and work experience requirement noted above.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to revenue cycle required.
Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Meditech billing system and familiarity with Massachusetts payers is preferred.
