Betfred is Hiring an Events Coordinator Near Las Vegas, NV

Overview
Betfred is the wholly owned US subsidiary of Betfred Group, a Warrington, United Kingdom based bookmaker that owns and operates more than 1,500 betting shops in the UK as well as industry leading online and mobile products in the UK and Spain. Betfred Group, founded by brothers Fred and Peter Done in 1967, created Las Vegas based Betfred in 2019 specifically to enter the robust and ever-expanding US sports betting market. Betfred is a licensed operator in Arizona, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Washington, and Colorado. Betfred intends to be open soon in Maryland and Nevada upon obtaining the requisite licensing and regulatory approvals.

To support our growth in the US market, we are now looking for an Events Coordinator. A successful candidate in this position will bring their event management and strong communication skills along with a love for sports. This role is based in Las Vegas, NV, and will report to the Marketing Director. We are looking for an individual who has a keen eye for detail, has an interest in sports, and wants to become part of a team for a growing US business.

Responsibilities• Oversee the planning and execution of various events including on-site activations, VIP events, golf tournaments, sports watch parties, and employee appreciation events.
• Identify the client’s responsibilities and expectations for each event.
• Liaise with vendors, operators, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order.
• Work in partnership with the creative team to meet objectives for all events.
• Manage and oversee events from preparation and set-up through teardown to ensure planned format, compliance with regulations, cooperation between vendors, resolution of issues, and overall satisfaction of participants.
• Inventory and track all event collateral items including gifts, marketing materials, tents, merchandise, and staffing wardrobe.
• Hire personnel as needed across all functions of an event (registration, set up, tracking RSVPs, catering, audio/visual, etc.)
• Develop and maintain budgets, and continuously review current execution, develop solutions for weaknesses.
• Negotiate contracts with venue personnel, caterers, hospitality staff, and other vendors to acquire necessary services and activities for events.
• Perform post-event tasks promptly such as meeting with clients, reviewing invoices and billing, approving payments, and documenting issues and resolutions.
• Evaluate potential locations, providers, and vendors frequently to determine viability for future events and to build a personal knowledge base.
• Must obtain and maintain a gaming license when required in jurisdictions where Betfred Sports does business.

Experience and Skills• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Minimum of 2 years in events preferably in the casino/gaming industry, or relevant experience.
• Proven experience in event planning or event coordination in a corporate environment.
• Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel, as necessary.
• A flexible approach to work, with the ability to multitask is essential.
• Able to work independently and as a part of a team is required.
• Understanding a sportsbook operation is a plus.
• Interest in sports, casinos, and gaming is desirable.
