Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant serves as a business partner to the Company with general ledger responsibility producing timely, accurate and meaningful information to aid in management decisions and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will report to the Director Finance. 

A successful Senior Accountant at Best Equipment has demonstrated a mindset focused on compliance, accuracy, and efficiency while enjoying learning and collaborating with others. The individual must be highly self-motivated, proactive, and be able to handle many diverse projects at once and meet assigned deadlines. 

Essential Position Duties:

• Responsible for accounting and finance functions, that may include revenue recognition, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, payables, invoicing customers, receivables, collections, commissions, month-end close, and financial reporting. 
• Record transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles 
• Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and proper classification. Timely identify and resolve reconciling items with appropriate parties. 
• Compile, analyze, and review financial information in the system and reduce manual reporting. 
• Aid in cashflow planning and financial budgeting/forecasting 
• Prepare workpapers for financial review and tax filings 
• Maintain documented procedures, including maintenance of master data in ERP system 

Qualifications & Experience:

• 2 or more years of accounting experience, public accounting or private company preferred 
• Team player that collaborates with others 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel 
• Experience with ERP Systems, Microsoft Navision preferred 
• Ability to ascertain and analyze key information from contracts/agreements 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment 
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks 
• Highly organized and detail oriented

• Company headquarters – 5550 Poindexter Dr, Indianapolis IN (on site) 

Travel Requirements

• Travel requirements are limited but could require overnight travel (less than 5%)
