Position Summary:

We are seeking a experienced Injection Mold Technician to join our production team. In this position, you will be in charge of setting up and starting up our injection molding machines. You will verify the setup is done correctly by completing a checklist for each run. During production, you will troubleshoot issues with equipment and make necessary adjustments, helping to ensure production is completed on time. You will also visually inspect items to uphold a consistent level of quality. Applicants should have at least two years of experience working with plastic injection molds as well as some materials handling experience.  This awesome technician takes pride in their work and values attendance.

Job Type: Full-time

12 hours Day Shfit: 7:00AM to 7:00PM

12 hours Night Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00AM 

Hiring  Bonus: $1,000.00 

$1,000.00 per referral bonus

  • Set and start molds. Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules
  • Make appropriate adjustments and troubleshoot machines to affect efficient production levels and document appropriately; respond to QA Techs and SPC charts
  • Oversee proper packaging procedures
  • Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands
  • Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems.
  • Process optimized to produce acceptable quality parts at the correct cycle time
  • Address down cavitation
  • Work with the toolroom to address mold issues while a mold is out for PM
  • Work on part containment
  • Suggest and implement best practices for mold and accessory storage. Use 6S practices
  • Assist production when production needs demand extra help
  • Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions to ensure quality and optimize molding cycles
  • Assist with Material Handling (Line Driving)
  • Inspect scrap and document all production numbers.
  • Assure all paperwork is completely filled out on a daily basis; i.e. daily process records, machine cleaning, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring safety, quality and housekeeping standards are maintained in the production department.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Group Leaders the supplies needed for each production run, including returning inventory of unused supplies.
  • Be knowledgeable of inventory procedures, following product guidelines
  • Must have a basic knowledge of hydraulics
  • Must have a basic knowledge of Pneumatics
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot a processing problem in a timely manner
  • Know and conduct quick start up and shut down emergency procedures
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and   three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills:


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to speak effectively with other employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills:


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals.


Reasoning Ability:


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock.  The employee occasionally works in high places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles.  During the summer months, even with climate controls, the work area can be very hot.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Fumes from certain compounds may be offensive to some individuals. 


The molding technician position is very fast paced at times.  In addition, this position may be strenuous, both physically and emotionally.
