Responsibilities

The Director will lead the SLT aligned with additional resources to provide content and thought leadership to ensure delivery of internal projects that drive profitable growth and performance. The position reports to the COO, leading initiatives around our strategy as well as our operating model, in partnership with each business line function.

• Lead development of business cases in partnership with business area leaders and stakeholders to generate senior management support for strategic initiatives and program business.• Enable a Continuous Improvement culture establishing clear change management and communication protocols.• Act as an independent resource and consultant to lead and manage initiatives and projects with internal stakeholders to execute on multiple key initiatives with the Senior Leadership team• Manage priorities on timelines, budgets, resources and what if analysis• Create repeatable processes that warrants less “recreating the wheel” • Maintains a Customer Experience lens on what we do• Provides oversight, cadence and established governance of highly visible, transformational projects to ensure alignment with our strategy. Triage new projects. Categorize and identify linkages and dependencies to ensure understanding and prioritization with other projects across the portfolio. Highlighting potential impacts to deliverables.• Leverage reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to be incorporated in strategic decision-making.• Coordinate with IT and other units to drive completion of significant initiatives that require business knowledge/expertise.• Support the business in the development of solutions that will deliver on the strategic initiatives of the Segment. This includes the critical thinking and conversion of strategy into operational improvements, such as the delivery of our Operating Model.• Manage the creation and delivery of presentations to senior management, including guiding the team to deliver very clear, structured and sometimes persuasive messaging• Be the glue that fills the gaps in executing on the plans and deliverables of key initiatives. Be relatable and valuable resource to each of our key Senior Leaders, inspiring a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

The Director operates in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to manage multiple, complex assignments and competing priorities. Candidates must be comfortable working in an ambiguous and dynamic environment.

• 5 years’ experience working in an internal strategy or project management role, or as a consultant working with client teams• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Inland Marine experience recommended• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and able to adapt to changing environments, priorities and stakeholders• Excellent facilitation skills and is capable of handling complex discussions across all levels of the organization• Ability to travel, as needed• Computer literate including use of Word, Excel and various project management tools • Must consistently demonstrate the WRBC Core Competencies and Innovation Behaviors

Education Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience • 5 years’ experience working in an internal strategy or project management role, or as a consultant working with client teams
