Department Overview

The Accounting Department oversees the accounting and financial planning and reporting functions of the organization. The team oversees accounting functions such as ledger accounts, financial statements and cost control systems with a focus on regulatory compliance and practices.

Position Summary

We are actively seeking an Accounts Payable associate to work with our Procure to Pay team performing daily payable transactions including processing invoices and making timely payments by a variety of methods. This role works with the organization to ensure compliance with company policies and support financial goals for multiple operating entities. The role requires a self-directed individual, who is highly organized and has an eye for detail and accuracy. The individual must have an ability to build effective relationships across the team and company and be willing to grow their skill set and perform duties as assigned.

You Will:

  • Partner with business leaders to ensure compliance with corporate payment policies, including vendor payments, employee expense reimbursement, credit card usage, and other payables.
  • Maintain records in compliance with tax requirements and SOX controls
  • Examine incoming documents to ensure accurate, timely invoice entry within the appropriate operating entities and software systems.
  • Attach or confirm appropriate documentation, PO matching, and/or bill approval
  • Prepare payment proposals within guidelines determined by management and vendor terms, and issue payments via a variety of methods
  • Support month-end accounting tasks, including taking care with cut-off dates, providing information for accrual entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts
  • Prepare requested reports and financial information

You Have:

Education

  • Associate degree in Business/Accounting or commensurate experience preferable

Experience

  • 0-3 years demonstrated experience and knowledge of the procure to pay function

Software/Skillset

  • A positive, team-oriented attitude is key to our positive culture!
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and familiarity with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines and adapt quickly to change
  • Good oral and written business communication skills
  • Comfort interacting with vendors and business partners through a variety of methods in a professional manner
  • Ability to troubleshoot, resolve and communicate solutions for issues
  • Experience with purchasing and ERP systems such as Coupa, NetSuite, iRely and/or Concur preferred
