The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the development, implementation, and on-going maintenance of applications in his/her assigned area of responsibility using learned technical skills to satisfy the resolution of business situations to achieve company goals.• Develop and support program modules from generally written specifications for the application in his/her area of responsibility.• Participate in system walkthroughs as needed.• Learn to develop program code more efficiently and ensure the modules perform correctly.• Complete projects within the time schedule.• Demonstrate responsibility for production applications.• Report the progress of assigned projects to his/her manager and fulfill the departmental administrative reporting requirements.• Ensure that assigned projects are thoroughly tested and documented, pass a quality assurance review and are accepted by the requestor prior to implementation.• Successfully adhere to departmental standards.• Efficiently utilize system manuals and software tools. • Perform other duties as requested by his/her manager.• Ability to communicate with end-users regarding application problem resolution and/or system development.• Assist on special projects as assigned.• Assist the project team, as requested, in the system design for the application of his/her area of responsibility.• Good attitude and work ethics that will influence subordinates and peers to ensure a high standard of performance.• Provide 24 X 7 on-call support for application failures and application support. Job Qualifications:• Knowledge of the business and meets the qualifying experience of the Application Programmer plus 1-2 years of position experience.• Technical Skills - CICS, COBOL, VSAM, MVS, tools equivalent to those used at Ben E. Keith.• Good oral and written skills. Able to participate in a team environment. Basic analytical skills.• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
