Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Planning, the Associate Director Project Management and Business Operations will provide support to the Commercial Operations & Business Analytics department (COBA), as well as to key commercial functions as part of the overall business planning and project management process.
The role provides an opportunity to help build and lead the BeiGene business liaison and planning functions for a fast-growing commercial team that is preparing for several planned oncology product launches in the US and beyond (ex-China). As a member of the business planning team, the individual will be accountable for applying best-in class project management and productivity approaches/platforms to help facilitate project planning, budget and resource management, and overall governance of key COBA programs, processes, procedures, and resource allocation. In addition, the individual will help manage and develop key business liaison and operational functions for COBA and the broader Commercial organization, where applicable. Viewed as a key liaison to the business, the individual will be expected to proactively build relationships across various functions and levels across the organization to ensure effective stakeholder management and coordination of efforts.
Essential Functions of the job:
Project Management Lead:
  • Lead integrated project planning initiatives to drive timely and successful execution of strategic projects and change initiatives across the COBA organization.
  • Develop and manage key metrics against agreed milestones and identify relevant critical paths and dependencies.
  • Proactively identify project issues and risks, support issue resolution, and develop risk mitigation plans in close partnership with COBA Leadership Team, project teams and relevant business partners.
  • Apply problem solving skills to innovate, challenge assumptions and create novel practices when appropriate specific to automation, metrics, and key productivity platforms for COBA team.
  • Proactively build relationships across various functions and levels across the organization to ensure effective stakeholder management and participate in launch planning management where appropriate.
  • Represent the Business Planning and Project Management Office (PMO) in COBA confidently during interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead project team meetings such as SCRUM and other key meetings, including supporting agenda development, meeting facilitation, and documentation of meeting minutes.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of plans within Smartsheets and other relevant platforms, as well as communication plans for status updates.
  • Develop and generate key reports on a weekly basis while incorporating process improvements consistently.
  • Provide support and assistance to project managers in completion of required tasks to meet departmental and project goals.
Business Operations Lead:
  • Lead all PMO and related business planning for COBA with key stakeholders
  • Work with relevant business owners to develop, enhance, and maintain processes, as needed
  • Lead and support accruals and overall budget planning process.
  • Work closely with legal, finance and procurement to understand the overall process for establishing new vendors and for purchasing requests and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate onboarding of sponsors or vendors in the company’s procurement system, as needed.
Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree
  • 8 years of related experience
  • Biotech/pharmaceutical project/process management experience is strongly preferred
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a plus
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Willingness to explore and leverage new technologies and digital tools
  • Experience using SharePoint and Microsoft one drive, concur for travel and expense reporting, and with meeting planning systems such as Cvent and contract management systems
Travel: 15%-20%

Salary Range: $141,800.00 - $191,800.00 annually

Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
