Position Description:

• Leads social and recreational programs to include both group and individual activities.
• Assists in selecting reading materials, crafts, writing materials, games, etc.
• Supervises games, crafts, musical programs, parties, religious services, resident outings and other activities under the leadership of Activities Director.
• Transports residents to and from activities.
• Provides input for resident care plan conference.
• Develops and maintains positive rapport with other departments.
• Decorates facility.
• Performs preparation duties.
• Provides general assistance to nurses in attending to needs of the residents.
• Provides input in developing departmental policies and procedures.
• Implements programs which will assist in achieving and maintaining the highest level of functioning of residents.
• Provides input into development and maintenance of records, plans, reports and evaluations of the activities program and resident participation.
• Maintains compliance with rules and regulations for licensure of nursing homes and Medical standards.
• Drives facility vehicles (once trained) to transport residents to and from events.
• Participates in employee meetings and training as needed. Performs special projects as assigned.
• Consistently demonstrates ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, and reprioritizes work as necessary.
