Beautylish is seeking an Accounting Manager to supervise our growing accounting department’s daily operations.

In this role, you will report to the Controller and work closely with the accounting team (local and overseas) to manage daily accounting functions including month-end close, cash management, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations. Our ideal candidate will also use strong analytical skills to support the Controller with financial reporting and forecasting. Ultimately, you will ensure our financial management is accurate and effective.

We are a small accounting team with a pragmatic approach to supporting the business so prioritization is an essential skill. The day-to-day of this role will evolve as the company and team grows. 

Responsibilities include:

• Manage month-end and year-end closing:oversee and actively participate in all areas of the monthly close process, including all areas of accounting (AR, AP, GL account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, consolidations, analytical review, and reporting) ensuring compliance with US GAAP regulations
• Maintain organized and secure accounting records by administering financial accounting software, (e.g. NetSuite), and organizing financial data into useable information
• Drive process improvement and automation efforts to streamline accounting processes: work with the Controller to identify risks and implement/maintain internal controls and proper audit documentation
• Act as a liaison or SME with internal business partners to provide relevant reporting and insight to develop appropriate solutions to business problems
• Ownership of Inventory Costing: ensuring accuracy on Inventory & COGS including GL reconciliations, 3-Way Match of packing slip/receipt/vendor bill, and Landed Cost Allocations.
• Oversee daily transactions, including cash management, AP/AR, banking transactions, and payroll review
• Assist in preparation of financial reporting, including financial statement prep and variance analysis
• Stay up to date on all matters of compliance, including administering local, state, federal, and international government reporting requirements and tax filings and participating in annual financial audit and tax return preparation
• Team Management: daily supervision of 2-3 team members (local and remote) and their functions; including training, delegation and goal setting, reviewing work, coaching, and performance reviews

Preferred Skills, Experience, & Qualifications:

• 1-2 years proven experience at the Accounting Manager level; we are also open to Senior Accountants with supervisory experience.
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance; Accounting certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is a plus but not required
• Experience with the administration of financial accounting software (NetSuite experience preferred) and strong MS Excel skills (managing spreadsheets, creating charts, and using advanced formulas)
• Experience in Multi-Entity Accounting and Intercompany Transactions
• Knowledge of State and Local Tax requirements
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy to manage large amounts of data
• Team management skills, including delegation, giving effective feedback, and coaching for continuous improvement
• Ability to prioritize competing demands, multitask, and meet deadlines
• Comfortable dealing in ambiguity and establishing new processes or analyzing complicated and sometimes conflicting information to effectively solve problems

Other Requirements:

• Must have current U.S. work authorization
• This is a hybrid (on site wfh) position: must be able to commute to our Walnut Creek office 2-3 days per week

This is a full time, salaried/exempt position with a planned compensation range of $115-140k, depending on experience. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k with company match, competitive PTO, parental leave, flexible schedule, and monthly work from home stipend.
