Beautycounter is Hiring a Director, Compensation Near Santa Monica, CA

Reporting to the VP of People Strategy, HR Business Partner and Total Rewards, this role will be the leader for Beautycounter’s compensation strategy. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain an equitable, innovative and competitive compensation strategy for the company.
  • Responsible for leading and executing on periodic talent review cycles to nurture a pay for performance culture.
  • Work with People Team leaders, business leaders and relevant stakeholders to continuously evolve the compensation strategy to meet the demands of changing business needs and external environments.
  • Partner with other COEs to enable compensation through a People Technology solution (pending selection and implementation of an HRIS). This includes implementation of a robust job architecture.
  • Develop and maintain a robust, executive compensation strategy.
  • Partner with the Sales Compensation Team to define and develop a holistic compensation strategy for both an employee and non-employee workforce. 
  • Develop other compensation strategies beyond the basics.
  • Advise senior business leaders and managers on using rewards as a motivator for increased employee performance and engagement.
  • Gain an understanding of global compensation programs including Canada and overseas to help the company prepare for expanding into overseas markets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in an ambiguous environment and bring structure (e.g. creation of a job architecture).
  • 7 years of experience in compensation strategy
  • Highly analytical and solution oriented.
  • Deep quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets.
  • Ability to review and analyze benchmark compensation data.
  • Excellent executive presence, with ability to present compensation data.
  • Fluent in compensation practices from a process and system perspective.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to partner within and outside of the People Team for delivering world class employee experience.
