The Education Services Substitute Teacher is responsible for filling in for full-time teachers in their absence. They must be knowledgeable in the subject matter they are teaching. The Substitute Teacher directly reports to the Quality Assurance Representative for Education Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain schedule availability to accept teaching opportunities that arise
• Execute daily lesson plans consistent with the teacher’s guidelines and curriculum
• Adhere to all school policies, including emergency protocols
• Take attendance and submit required daily reporting
• Assign homework according to teacher’s lesson plans
• Supplement lesson plans class activities
• Create and maintain classroom discipline for a safe and productive learning environment
• Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A 4- year bachelor’s degree and strong in Math
• Teacher certified preferred not required
• Experienced teacher or substitute teaching or Tutoring
• Advanced competency in at least two subjects; general competency in all others
• Scheduling availability, flexibility, patience
• Confidence and proficiency in giving instruction
• Superb verbal and written communication skills
• Preferred- teaching certificate
• Preferred- bilingual (Spanish)
