Provides legal advice to the organization, prepares contracts, legal memoranda and other work product and participates in major legal actions. Job Description: BlueCross, as a federal contractor, may be required to implement a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Job Responsibilities Provide legal support and guidance to business leaders throughout the Enterprise, including advising on legal considerations and risks affecting business initiatives and operations. Develop and maintain strong, professional business relationships with internal and external clients. Assists and supports more senior attorneys with management of legal matters and projects. Draft and revise legal documents, including contracts and legal memoranda. Job Qualifications Education/Licensure Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution Must be a member of the TN bar, or licensed in another state and become a member of the TN bar as required by the state bar. Experience 5 years - Private practice or in-house legal department experience required Skills Strong analytical, planning, organizational and research skills Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to interpret and translate complex concepts into information meaningful to business personnel. Ability to work independently on multiple tasks involving critical deadlines with little or no supervision as well as part of a team Job Specific Requirements: Additional Information At least 5 years experience with litigation preferred. Participate in litigation, arbitration, and other legal proceedings to protest BCBST Enterprise's interests. Works and coordinates with outside counsel providing support on litigation and other dispute resolution matters. Manages internal teams supporting discovery and other productions; in response to subpoenas and other formal request.
