SES Group of Companies LLC (SGC) is growing! We are seeking a talented Staff Scientist to join the Aerostar Environmental and Construction (AEC) team, a subsidiary of SGC. This key role will be supporting the military mission at the White Sands Missle Range through environmental planning and science. Our team is composed of high-performing environmental specialists who serve the mission at WSMR. We take pride in being responsive and cross-trained, where everyone is willing to contribute across technical specialties to achieve mission requirements.WSMR is located in southern New Mexico and encompasses approximately 2.2 million acres. WSMR is 30 miles east of Las Cruces, NM, and 45 miles north of El Paso, Texas. The primary area of performance shall be within the designated boundaries of WSMR. However, performance may be required in the WSMR Northern Call-up area, Western Call-up area, to include WSMR activities off range in southern New Mexico such as National Forest lands and/or Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands, Fort Wingate, NM, Green River, UT, and other off-range sites in New Mexico, Utah, and Idaho.ResponsibilitiesConduct site assessments for biological resources and other environmental resourcesCollect data and prepare reportsReview Records of Environmental Consideration (RECs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs)Review and provide technical support for Environmental Impact Statements (EISs)Prepare background, analytical, and reporting content including graphics, tables, and basic text at the direction of a Senior Scientist.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or related fieldProficient in using basic features in Geographic Information System (GIS)Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsOne year of experience with the NEPA process.Prior military experience is a plus.Compensation$72,000About SES Group of Companies LLCSES Group of Companies LLC LEADS the way to a sustainable future for all stakeholders via our leadership (L), excellence (E), accountability (A), dedication (D), and safety (S).
