The Quincy Family Resource Center (located only 10 minutes away from Boston) is looking for a charismatic and influential Family Support Worker to work with local families who experience a high level of trauma, poverty, and homelessness to ensure they receive the proper supports and guidance. The Family Support Workers assist youth and families gain access to support groups, free donations and educational/informational resources.

What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference:
Independentlyhost Parent/Guardian and Youth Support groups
Assist families in identifying resources (i.e. housing, schooling, food pantries, etc) to meet individual family needs
Ensure youth and family voice and choice is implemented in service delivery.
Become familiar with systemic issues facing individuals and families and provide ongoing monitoring of any safety concerns.
Develop creative and proactive approaches to individual’ and families’ crisis patterns and help address their problems before they develop into crises.
Develop Family Resource Center Events Calendar
Availability: Must have flexibility in job schedule to meet operation hours of the FRC; ability to work some evenings/weekend

Requirements
Qualifications/Credentials
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Associate's Degrees with at least one year of experience required
Experience working with youth and families preferred
Experience with educational systems preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional spoken languages are desirable
Computer proficiency
Valid MA driver’s license with adequate driving record and current proof of insurance
Acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by program
