About Baxter’s Cleveland, MS Facility:

Cleveland’s technology and automation is cutting edge. It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices. This facility produces a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, tubing extrusion, and device assembly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing complex maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration and repair on a variety of circuits, components, analytical equipment and instruments for laboratory and manufacturing equipment.

  • Prepares technical reports, perform trending on equipment and processes, and determines acceptability of product and processes based on data analysis and specifications.

  • This section contains a list of five to eight primary responsibilities of this role that account for 5% or more of the work.

  • The incumbent will perform other duties assigned. Assists with outside audits for vendors in contract calibration laboratories.

  • Follows sequence of testing from calibration procedures for instruments and equipment and ensures all tasks are performed in compliance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Creates and maintains equipment file for each piece test/manufacturing equipment requiring calibration.

  • Sets up standards and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.

  • Applies complex formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.

  • Assists engineers in evaluation plans and procedures, to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording and indicating instruments and equipment.

  • Ensures all tasks are performed in compliance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Investigates failures and determines acceptability of product and processes.

  • Performs documentation of investigation findings.

  • Assists with development and implementation of technically defensible calibration procedures.

  • Follows procedures for performing steam sterilization studies for sterilization vessels.

  • Train fellow employees in the calibration department to allow for cross training of responsibilities. Communicate with vendors and send out purchase orders for items that are externally calibrated.

  • Serve as a technical resource on metrology issues.

  • May assist in coordinating and scheduling the routine preventative maintenance of the department and calibration technicians.

  • Proficient understand of Metrology with an ability to deal with moderately complex processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to demonstrate judgment and initiative in problem resolution.

  • Must be able to work unsupervised.

  • Must have good communication skills and detail oriented. A basic understanding of instrument capabilities/limitations and factors affecting their use is preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

  • This position requires an Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college and/or technical school and or 5 or more years of experience.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $33,000 to $76,000. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
