Basin is Hiring an Estimator Near Mitchell, IN

Position: Estimator

Reports to: Project Manager

Department: Accounting

FLSA Status: Exempt

EEO Classification: Professional

Description

The Estimator will work with purchasing, accounting, and other functional areas to calculate rack actual costs and complete customer pricing sheets based on projected profit margins. Review pricing results with management.

General Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing departments to identify cost drivers and develop external quotes for all products and services
  • Identify bills of material from engineering drawings and input into Excel-based pricing sheet to calculate product costs, sales price, and projected profitability
  • Communicate directly with external customers and vendors on quoting activities
  • Work with functional areas to identify postproduction costs to compare actual versus budgeted profitability
  • Maintain tracking on incoming and outgoing quote requests
  • Complete and review ad hoc analyses as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (or equivalent) – preferred but not required.
  • Prior manufacturing-related management or analysis experience – preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, self-motivated, and strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
  • Able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision, proactively identify and react to potential problems, and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills, with ability to identify financial drivers and perform high level/detailed assessments and analyses.
