Paralegal Role
Barry McTiernan & Moore's has an opening in our NY City office. The firm is seeking a Paralegal to join our General Litigation group. BMM is seeking a Paralegal with 5 to 8 years of experience handling extensive document drafting and management. Knowledge of the full life cycle of a civil case is required to be successful in this role. Candidates must possess experience in all phases of pre-trial preparation as well as strong organization and writing skills.
Responsibilities
Work closely with attorneys in handling all aspects of case management and trial preparation in a fast-paced team environment.
Manage high-volume caseload.
Conduct complex research and investigation to further deposition preparation and development of trial strategy.
Manage various aspects of trial preparation, including drafting comprehensive summaries, gathering exhibits, compiling trial notebooks, and filing court documents.
Review and prepare various legal documents, reports, and correspondence.
Transcribe and proofread legal documents when needed.
Prepare pleadings, motions, and responses for cases.
Finalize documents for submission including all required exhibits.

Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
5-8 years as a Paralegal in a civil defense firm.
Proficiency with MS Office
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent organization skills
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and driven with a commitment to excellence.
Proficient in Westlaw and/or Lexis.
