Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Software Developer on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

HSFTIC supports multiple human spaceflight programs by providing products and services for mission and program technical integration activities. This includes the necessary infrastructure functions for the International Space Station (ISS), Orion and Gateway programs, with the potential for supporting additional human spaceflight programs or projects via task orders.

Responsibilities

The Software Developer will:

• Perform software and database development activities to meet International Space Station (ISS) Mission Evaluation Room (MER) requirements:
  • Gather and document user requirements
  • Assist in design and development of software to meet user requirements
  • Maintain internal software development and procedure documentation
• Support ISS MER IT Support tasks as assigned:
  • Research and answer IT-related user questions
  • Provide on-console MER support during complex or critical ISS MER operations (may involve short-term shift work)
  • Assist with training users on ISS MER telemetry data systems and custom software
• Understand data restrictions to ensure proprietary and sensitive data are appropriately controlled and data transactions are monitored.
• Actively participate in team projects.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

• BA/BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Strong technical skills and ability to learn new languages and development platforms and paradigms quickly.
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely to customers and management.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills.
• Experience working individually and actively participating on integrated teams.

 Preferences:

• Experience or coursework in Java, c#, ASP.NET, jQuery, or MVC is a plus.
• Experience or coursework in Windows or Linux system administration is a plus.
• Experience in SQL Server administration is a plus.

• This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
