Senior Software Engineer

Our long-term client relationship with Boeing Corporation has led to a need for a Senior Software Engineer on the Boeing Engineering and Technical Services (BETS III) contract located in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will:

• Participate in, and support Test Open Records Review (TORRs) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) as required.
• Participate in, and support Agile SW release products for Design, Code, and Integration for Ground system as well as Payload Flight Software of the International Space Station
• Develop, code, test, debug, deploy, field troubleshoot, and maintain Payload support applications and systems.
• Update and audit process documentation.
• Support testing and configuration verification of the International Space Station (ISS) Vehicle and Payload Experiments prior to launch and activation.
• Support development of test procedures, tools, execute tests during informal and formal testing, and develop/release test reports, as required.
• Participate in and conduct peer reviews of release products, as required. Document discrepancies and problems.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Qualifications

 Required Education/Experience/Skills:

• BS/BA degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, plus thirty (30) years of experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• International Space Station experience, specifically with payloads and RAPTR

Preferences:

• Direct software experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Working knowledge of web languages (ex. HTML, CSS, PHP, Java, JavaScript, etc).
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Experience working in a team environment; proven ability to consult and support and mentor peers of team
• Excellent communication skills both written, graphical, and verbal using the English language.
• SharePoint development experience.
• Understanding of software development, code, integration, test and requirements verification. Use of C/C or other scripting language.
• Well rounded practical Software lifecycle experience (Waterfall, Agile)
• Understanding of 1553, Medium Rate Data Link (MRDL), High Rate Data Link (HRDL), and Analog and Discrete signal processing
• Practical understanding and application of NIST IT Security policy compliance
• Process oriented

Essential Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

• Work may involve sitting for extended periods.
• May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.
• Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
• Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
• Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)
• Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
• Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
• Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
• Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
• This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
