Position Name: Software Engineer

Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80916

Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able to achieve and maintain a DOD security clearance. Active/current clearances preferred.

BESL is seeking qualified candidates that have Linux subject matter expertise in configuration, integration and deployment. and perform software component design and development for the ATS subsystem.

Ability to utilize DevOps pipelines to perform continuous integration and deployment.

Will contribute and participate in a development team that uses agile methodologies combined with mature software practices and a technology-supported development infrastructure. Supports, maintains and documents software functionality.

Individuals will perform optical system software development, design, implementation, and test. The ideal candidate should have experience with the full software development lifecycle. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and requires the ability to achieve and maintain an active Security Clearance.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

•Full-Stack Java development experience•Full software lifecycle development processes including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and unit test•Experience with the Agile Scrum development methodology•Experience with software containerization and orchestration (Docker)•Experience with DevSecOps (CI/CD) methodology and tools (Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify)•Experience with the following languages in a RedHat Linux or similar environment: Java, Groovy, Bash Scripting

Preferred:•Active security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain required clearance

  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • SDA Command and Control Systems; Sensor Processing Systems, Optical Systems / Telescope systems a plus
  • Artifact Repository Management using Nexus or similar
  • Cyber compliance using Fortify Workbench, SonarQube or similar tools
  • Scrum Master or Product Owner experience a plus

BESL complies with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary range for this particular effort in Colorado is approximately $80,000 to 135,000 DOE.
