Barks and Recreation LLC is Hiring a Support Specialist Near Mystic, CT

Barks and Recreation is a growing dog walking and pet sitting company in southeastern CT and we need a couple capable, fun-loving, self-motivated people to join our team and grow with us!

The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, highly tech savvy, high emotional intelligence, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.

Some Shared Responsibilities:

  • Processing client requests, managing employee schedules, and overseeing completion of services scheduled so no pets go without care
  • Overseeing quality control of services provided via online auditing & occasional in field check-in's while dropping supplies to the field team
  • Provide excellent customer service, on time follow up, and attention to detail to provide an outstanding experience for every client
  • Managing our client and employees "first 100 days" SOP
  • Engage on social media within various communities and on our social pages
  • Maintain positive ongoing relationships with clients & team
  • Maintain high ethical standards and professionalism
  • Multitask and prioritize as needed to meet client & team needs
  • Represent the company with integrity & dedication
  • Covering pet care visits in the field due to call-outs and emergencies (0-5x per month)

A day in the life of the Support Squad:

As a Support Squad member at Barks & Rec you will be either working from home or in the office while responding to clients within our software system, processing new service requests, answering the phone, providing support to our Pet Care Specialists in the field, following up on leads, engaging with our social media following & online communities, and collecting information from clients to ensure profiles are up to date so the team in the field can effectively do their job. You'll work directly with the owner on a daily basis, helping with projects and completing tasks, research, and other jobs as assigned.

As an animal lover you enjoy promoting excellent animal-related services. You thrive in our fast-paced, evolving environment, and you easily ensure various processes are followed accurately according to protocol, you feel good about helping clients give their pets their best lives, being part of team that uplifts and helps each other, and being part of a growing, female owned, small business.

On occasion you will need to cover for a call out or emergency. You'll head out and work with the clients pets directly for a portion or all of your shift. You'll be walking dogs in their neighborhood or on a local trail, visiting with cats to feed & scoop boxes, providing meals and medication as needed. This doesn't happen often, but when it does you would skip the office and head out to the field.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • 1 years experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, office manager, VA or receptionist or similar experience
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Positive, high-energy attitude, high emotional intelligence, and the desire to grow as a human and within your professional life
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and problem-solving mind set
  • Expert in all or some of these softwares/apps: google suites, clickup, Slack, Zapier, Buffer, GMB, instagram & facebook, time to pet, wordpress, and other small business applications and software systems
  • Self starter that can see problems and proactively enjoys looking for solutions
  • Desire to help and assist others
  • A portable laptop that can handle running multiple applications at one time, to work on in different location (for tablets you must be able to open, edit, and share google doc/sheets/forms etc)
  • A registered, insured, pet friendly vehicle
  • Excitement and ability to occasionally walk dogs and care for pets within New London County, CT.

Job Type: part-time with potential to reach full time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • We serve clients 6a-930p, 7 days per week.
  • Must have consistent availability, for at least 4 consecutive hours, minimum of 4 weekdays between 8a-3p
  • Must work minimum of 2 weekends per month, Sat & sunday, as worked out between the team. Weekends hours are shorter
  • Flexible hours
